Andy Pulzar has DJed professionally since he was 15, playing across a wide variety of nightclubs, bars, festivals and private functions. With extensive proven experience, a heap of music knowledge and excellent presence, if you want to see a DJ that knows how to keep a dance floor packed, be a trusted pair of hands to place your event in, pump up a crowd and deliver results every time, you need to experience Andy Pulzar!

During a four year excursion across the ditch in Sydney after the quakes, Andy developed an excellent reputation around the region as an incredibly versatile DJ, with regular gigs at the Bristol Arms Retro Hotel, the Mean Fiddler, Quakers Inn, The Marlborough Hotel, Peakhurst Inn, Lowenbrau, Hard Rock Café Darling Harbour, Margaritaville Darling Harbour, Scruffy Murphys, The Oakes Hotel, The Winston, Dee Why Hotel, Mounties, Jacksons On George, Richards on the Park and Carmens Nightclub in Miranda.

Since returning to Christchurch in 2015, Andy has been resident at Amazonita, Chiwahwah, Mashina Lounge, Iconic, Chic/Topkapi, The Print Room and Saints Bar, along with opening for Six60 in Cathedral Square for NYE2016 and playing in Hagley Park with the CCC for NYE2017.

Previous New Zealand residencies include most of Christchurch’s high profile clubs & bars, including Malbas, Liquidity, Taxi Club, Base Nightclub, Azure, Ferment, The Loaded Hog, Smile Clubbing NZ, The Church and Trinity nightclub.

Career highlights include performing in the main support slot for the sold out Sneaky Sound System concert (with Craig Shaw), kicking off Sneaky’s first ever South Island gig at the Civic in December 2007. Another personal highlight was supporting Andy Hunter in front of 15,000 in 2003.

Internationally he’s performed as far afield as Smile in London at the Chunnel Club and Buzz in Chicago. He has played support to Sneaky Sound System, Steve Hill, Andy Hunter, Dave Holmes, Skol, Tony Burt, Daniel Ro, Rob Tissera, Eddie Halliwell, Dr Duzzit, Scott Mortimore, Sample Gee, The Marshall, General Lee, Tim Phin, Archie, Jon Ferris, OB1, Kenesis, Alex K, Justin Sane, Kyle Bourke, Disko Diva, and many more. He loves travelling and is always looking for an excuse to pack a bag and jump on a plane.

Primarily known for playing house, electro house, bounce and uplifting trance, with many years of DJing for corporate & private functions he is also able to spin RnB, commercial tunes, top 40 remixes, classic retro anthems or whatever else is required for a particular event.

With a massive music collection and awesome musical knowledge, Andy can play to any crowd. Plus, after adding Video to his repertoire, he can provide a full video mix with music clips and visual FX being streamed live during his set.

In March 2004 he DJed live on stage at the Court Theatre as a cast member of GEEZERS, an improvised theatrical show that ran to packed houses for a full four week season, playing the beats of London’s East End, with breaks, D&B, garage and house music. The show toured across New Zealand for five weeks during August 2005. The success of Geezers was followed by another show with the same cast called ROCK ON (Oct/Nov 2005), where Andy sound-tracked a nightly feast of classic heavy metal.

In October 1999 with a business partner, Andy started Pulzar FM, Christchurch’s home of dance music, broadcasting across the Canterbury region 24/7, a station they closed 23 years later, in May 2023.

As well as running Anthemz and DJing, Andy works in technology recruitment, and is the proud Dad of 2 awesome kids.
